Thunder avenges regular-season losses to Nardin

Timing was everything for the Mount St. Mary girls lacrosse team in the Monsignor Martin Association championship. After two overtime losses to Nardin during the regular season, the Mount used Friday's matchup to win, 15-11, and clinch its sixth straight playoff title.

"We just progressively got better during the year," said third-year Mount coach Marissa Dauria. "Our girls worked hard and practiced every day. We played a little different defensive scheme."

Mount junior Jenny Grimm had five goals to finish the season with 29. Junior Emily Terranova added two with two assists. Junior Taylor Gerst scored three consecutive goals during a stretch in the second half.

Nardin finished the regular season with a 10-0 record. In a post-game ceremony, junior Bri Robbins of the Gators was named league MVP.
