Celebrating 85 Years
by afussellMount St. Mary Academy celebrated 85 years of tradition, service and academic excellence on Sunday, September 9, 2012. The anniversary was celebrated by alumnae, students, faculty and friends at a special Mass in the school's auditorium.

Representatives for each of Mount St. Mary Academy's reunion classes presented a red rose before the altar to commence the celebratory Mass.
The school was founded by the Sisters of St. Mary of Namur in 1927 with the purpose of educating young women in a nurturing environment and in accordance with the Sisters mission to "offer all to God." In 1954, the school was expanded to accommodate growing numbers of students and later expanded again to include a state of the art auditorium and gymnasium. In recent years, Mount St. Mary has consistently ranked in the top ten public and private high schools featured in Business First's annual Guide to Western New York Schools.
The Mass also included the school's annual Alumnae Award ceremony.
