by afussellMount St. Mary Academy will be hosting a Green Lacrosse Game to promote cancer awareness and raise funds for research. Mount St. Mary's varsity lacrosse team, seven-time MML champions, will play the Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart on Friday, May 11 at 4:30 p.m. at Phillip Sheridan Field.
The Green Game proceeds will benefit HeadStrong, an organization founded by the late Nick Colleluori, a lacrosse player for Hofstra University. More information can be found at http://headstrongfoundation.org.
Mount St. Mary's lacrosse players will don lime green jerseys to show solidarity with the HeadStrong Foundation. Concessions and donations will benefit the Foundation's cancer battle.
"Nick Colleluori's determination and strength made him a great role model to young lacrosse players," says MSM coach, Marissa Dauria. "We hope that we can follow in his footsteps and make a difference in the battle against cancer."
