Columbus Day weekend was fun-filled for the 100+ members of the Mount St. Mary Marching Band and Dance Team who traveled to New York City.

While marching down 5th Avenue in the Columbus Day parade was the group's top job, they also made time for performances on the USS Intrepid and at an alumnae party aboard the "Jewel" cruise ship.

Students in Mount St. Mary's Academy Scholars classes were invited to be guests of alumna Christine Cala Tricoli '81 at the New York Stock Exchange. Mounties learned more about how the Stock Market works and were on the trading floor for the excitement of the opening bell.

MSM Journalism students conducted interviews in Times Square with actress Janine Divita and photographer Sean Turi from New York's "Dream and Reach" program.

"This weekend was filled with outstanding opportunities for our students," said Mount St. Mary Principal Dawn Riggie. "The girls represented our school well, and we are very proud of them."
