The judges were seeing blue at the Darien Lake Music Competition: Mountie Blue. Mount St. Mary Academy competed in three categories on May 21 and placed first in each category.  

The MSM Concert Band took home not only the first place prize in their AA division, but also took home the title Grand Champions having scored the highest of any concert band in any division.

The MSM Jazz Ensemble was not to be outdone. The Jazz Ensemble competed in AA division as well and matched the Concert Band taking home First Place and Grand Championship trophies.

Section awards were bestowed to Mount St. Mary Academy for best trumpet section and best drumline.  

The Gemtones, Mount St. Mary Academy's choral group, also took home First Place in their division.  

Individual honors went to Joan McDonough for Best Drummer and Best Vocal Soloist.
