Mount St. Mary Academy has teamed with pop-culture educational organization and publishing company started by veteran journalist and teacher, Tim O'Shei. Through this exclusive collaboration, Mount St. Mary's students have had the opportunity to develop their journalism skills as part of a nationally recognized program.

Through workshops, guest speakers, and celebrity interview opportunities, teens have a chance to discover not only what the best performers do to reach the top of their field, but also how they survive in the spotlight and use their recognition to do good things for other people.
Live! Starring...You! is part of a classroom learning program offered to Mount St. Mary Academy students in Journalism and Academy Scholars courses or as a volunteer opportunity.
Projects by Mount St. Mary Academy and LSY include:
- Mount St. Mary students are in the process of publishing Rock Out Loud, a journalistic study of the music industry, researched and reported from private interview conducted with music artist from various genres, including: Peter Yarrow (Peter, Paul and Mary), Robby Takac (Goo Goo Dolls), Darryl McDaniels (Run-DMC), and members of pop-rock bands including Simple Plan, Allstar Weekend and We the Kings, among dozens more.
- Celebrities are lining up to be interviewed by Mount St. Mary students. Each interview is filmed for LSY's YouTube channel and recorded for the LSY blog. Check out recent interviews with Buffalo Bills' legend, Marv Levy and Sabres' great, Pat LaFontaine.
- Live! Starring... You! started as a publication of the same name, co-authored by our own Megan Blarr (Class of 2009). Megan researched, interviewed and helped write the book on young celebrity and the truth on the red carpet.
