Admissions
Mount St. Mary Academy offers students the opportunity to experience outstanding academics, award-winning Fine Arts, dozens of athletic teams and a wide variety of clubs and activities. Our school has been ranked in the top 5% of all Western New York high schools for the past two years. Set on a safe five-acre suburban campus, Mount St. Mary Academy boasts 100,000 square feet of educational and recreational space for our students.
Eighth graders who wish to join Mount St. Mary Academy's freshman class must complete an application, available from us and most area Catholic elementary schools, and take the Catholic High Schools Placement Test. This year's test was offered on November 21, 2009. The Placement Test for the 2011-12 school year will be offered in Fall 2010 (date to be announced). Admission will be offered to those students for whom our school will provide an appropriate curriculum, based on placement test results, academic history and teacher recommendations. Students applying after November may be tested individually.
Transfer students will be considered for admission upon receipt of their transcript, current grades, letters of recommendation and interview with Mount St. Mary Academy administrative personnel.
For more information, contact Mrs. Julie Wojick '85, Assistant Principal for Institutional Advancement.
Tuition, Scholarships and Financial Assistance
A Mount St. Mary education is a solid investment in your daughter's future. The 2009-2010 tuition is $8100, plus course and administrative fees. Mount St. Mary Academy currently offers more than two dozen scholarships to incoming freshmen based on placement exam results and separate applications. Applicants who list Mount St. Mary Academy as their first choice for high school will be considered for scholarships. Please contact us for a complete list of these awards.
Financial aid is available in several ways:
- Mount St. Mary Academy is dedicated to and firmly supports Catholic Education. A 25% discount will be applied to the tuition accounts of those families who have at least one parent who is a full-time employee at a Catholic Elementary School, a Catholic High School or a Catholic Church. A letter of employment verification from the principal or pastor is required each year by May 1st. Discount determinations will be made at the discretion of the School Administration in conjunction with the policies set forth by the Board of Trustees.
- Financial aid grants are awarded based on financial need. Limited funds are available for incoming and current students each year.
- Students are eligible for our Work-Study program. The program matches the student with an in-school job during the school year and/or summer. Payment is based on the number of hours worked and is credited directly to the tuition account.
- Discounts are given to families with more than one daughter attending our school.
We offer a variety of tuition payment options, including the ability to spread payments out over ten months. Discounts are given to those families who choose to make payment in full by July 1 or who pay half of the tuition by July 1 and the other half by December 1.
